Na No Wri Mo

I haven't been writing much for the past few years. I don't just mean blogging, I mean writing. I have a degree in creative writing, but aside from using my writing skills at work there's not much writing in my life. In my Etsy listings I strive to keep it simple and descriptive, without bogging the shoppers down with a detailed story or setting. It's good for getting listings up fast, with accurate decriptions that don't have fluff, but it really doesn't satisfy the storyteller in me.

For the last few days or weeks I've been craving writing again. I always knew the day would come when I wanted to start writing again, but I've been so consistently busy that I keep putting it off... off..off. Save it for another day. But my cravings almost always get the better of me, and this time is no exception. I need to write. I need to tell stories.

So for the month of November, I'm going to try to post a story a day here on the blog. Not just any story, though. I'll be using pieces from my Etsy shop as anchors to each story. The clothes talk to me when I pick them up off the racks and decide to take them home. They tell me a story about who they have been worn by, and who they will be worn by. So I'm going to tell some of those stories.

NaNoWriMo stands for "National Novel Writing Month" and while I'm not going to be writing a novel, I am going to be committing to writing every day in November. I'm going to be telling 30 stories of 30 garments. And I'm going to be doing it right here.
